Immunofluorescence staining for verifying the survival and retention of stemness of transplanted stem cells in the stem cell and combined treatment groups. (A) On the 3rd day, the presence of transplanted stem cells was confirmed in both the hTMSCs group and the hydrogel + hTMSCs group. (B) Only cells in the hydrogel + hTMSCs group retained stem cell markers. The difference was prominently displayed in the high-magnification merged image showing the co-localized expression of both Ku80 and Thy-1 markers
