Upregulation of CD34 expression by sodium nitroprusside (SNP) is dependent on de novo mRNA and protein synthesis. Sort-purified LSK-CD34− cells were treated with 200 μM SNP for 12 h with or without the addition of 5 μg/ml actinomycin D (Act D).
