With respect to the lung (a), hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining revealed normal histomorphological aspects. Few and scattered human mitochondria positive cells (arrows) were observed, without differences in their numbers between animals transplanted with uncoated versus HA-coated hBTSCs (a). Also the kidney appeared invariably normal (b) with respect to the histomorphological aspects; no human Hep-Par1+ cells were identified by IHC.
