WNT mediated cell fate decisions in AF-MSCs. Self-renewal renal progenitor cells maintained when WNT signaling is inactive due to sustained upregulated expression of SIX2, WT1 and CD133 and downregulation of BMP7 on mRNA level. Upon activation of canonical WNT signaling (i.e., CHIR99021-mediated GSK3β inhibition) there is an exit of self-renewal, due to upregulated expression of BMP7, but downregulation of WT1, SIX2 and CD133 expression on mRNA level
