Outline of the CR method for establishing equine keratinocytes cultures and potential uses of generated cells. Equine tissues were obtained from different horses; tissues were digested enzymatically followed by initiation of cell growth and propagation using irradiated mouse fibroblast and ROCK inhibitor. Cells were cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen. The generated equine keratinocytes can be used in numerous applications, including - but not limited to - induced reprogramming stem cells generation (iPSC), transdifferentiation into somatic cells, drug screening, and regenerative medicine
