Infusion of ICAM-1-overexpressing MSCs ameliorated contraction and shortening of the colon in IBD mice. Contraction and shortening of the colon in IBD mice was visibly alleviated by infusion of primary MSCs, C3 cells, C3-vector cells, and C3-ICAM-1 cells. ICAM-1-overexpressing MSCs have significantly stronger effects versus the control group than that of primary MSCs, C3 cells, and C3-vector cells (a and b) (*, P < 0.05)
