Analysis of the expression of surface markers and characterisation of MSCs and MSC-EVs. a Young and old MSCs were labelled with the antibody against CD45, CD44 and CD90; the cells present were positive for CD90 and CD44 but negative for CD45. Representative FACS analyses of young and old MSC-EVs expressed similar results for CD44, CD29 and α4-integrin. b Young and old MSCs were cultured in conditions inducive of osteogenic or adipogenic differentiation, respectively.
