Schematic illustration of the possible molecular mechanisms induced by nsPEFs in MSCs. nsPEFs stimulation (5 pulses of electrical stimulation at levels of 10 ns at 20 kV/cm, or 100 ns at 10 kV/cm; the time interval between two pulses is 1 s) could enhance trilineage differentiation of both MSCs. In terms of the mechanism, nsPEFs could downregulate DNMT1, temporally unlock the stabilizer of DNA methylation, and lead to the elevated stem cell pluripotency gene expression of OCT4 and NANOG
