From: Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells attenuate acute lung injury and improve the gut microbiota in septic rats

Fig. 1

Effect of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) on systemic inflammatory response in rats with cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced acute lung injury (ALI). The serum levels of IL-6 (a) and TNF-α (b) were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). *Compared with the sham control (SC) group; #compared with the CLP group; *, #P < 0.05; **, ##P < 0.01; ***, ###P < 0.001. c Effect of CLP and ADMSCs on 24-h lung histology. Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed that inflammatory infiltration, edema, and hemorrhage of rat lung tissue from the CLP group were significantly enhanced. Treatment with ADMSCs improved these anomalies (bar = 100 μm)
