Goblet cell counts for the assessment of mucus overproduction. Quantitative histological staining (a) and analysis (b) of goblet cells within the bronchi. A significant increase in goblet cells was observed after 12 weeks of CS exposure with no reduction following 2 weeks of self-healing (CSSH). Treatment of the CS groups with MSCs significantly reduced the number of goblet cells and no significant reduction in response to UCMSC-EVs and UCMSC-CM (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.001)
