Involvement of prostaglandin E2 secretion and inducible nitric oxide synthase activity in human MuStem cell-mediated T-cell inhibition. Quantification of the proliferation of Cell Trace Violet (CTV)-labeled CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in co-cultures of naïve hMuStem cells + PBMCs or naïve BM-MSCs + PBMCs a with or without indomethacin, a prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) inhibitor; and b with or without NG-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA), an inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) inhibitor. Experiments were performed on 5 and 4 independent batches of hMuStem cells and BM-MSCs, respectively. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM (*p < 0.05, ***p < 0.001; Mann–Whitney U test)
