Heat shock-induced ROS production in PDMCs. A PDMCs were incubated with heat shock, and the flow cytometry was conducted to examine ROS production in different time points. B, C PDMCs were pretreated with DMSO vehicle, NAC (5 µM), DPI (5 µM) and APO (5 µM) for 30 min, and then stimulated with heat shock. The cells were collected at 48 h after the heat shock, and the mRNA and the protein expression of HSPs were examined by qPCR and Western blotting. D PDMCs were treated as described in Fig. 2B, and then, the cell viability was determined at different time points by MTT assay. Results are expressed as the mean ± SEM. *p < 0.05 compared with control; #, p < 0.05 compared with heat shock -treated group
