Proliferation rates of human adipose-derived stem cells in three-dimensional and two-dimensional cell culture conditions. Cells were seeded at 0.5×106/ml. Cellular proliferation was determined by PicoGreen® assay (Molecular Probes) (Life Technologies, Dublin, Ireland) after recovering the DNA from cells in both three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) culture systems. There was no significant difference in cell proliferation rates in both 3D and 2D cultures (n = 3, P <0.05).
