Effects of BM-MSC therapy on renal function in P. berghei-infected animals. Mice were infected with P. berghei or mock-infected with saline and, 24 hours after infection, treated with BM-MSCs. Five days after infection, plasma and urine samples were collected for analysis of renal function. Analysis of a urinary flow, b plasma creatinine, c blood urea nitrogen (BUN), d creatinine clearance, e BUN/plasma creatinine, f urinary creatinine, and g urinary protein/creatinine ratio (UPCr) in different experimental groups is depicted.
