Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) levels in the hippocampus and cortex of young, aged, and APP/PS1 mice. Using PCR, the levels of the chemokine and MSC regulator MCP-1 were quantified in the hippocampus and cortex of young, aged, and APP/PS1 mice without cell treatment. a Compared with young and APP/PS1 mice, MCP-1 levels were significantly increased in the hippocampus of old mice. b Within the brain cortex, young mice showed the lowest levels of MCP-1 expression. Compared with both young and old mice, MCP-1 levels were significantly increased in the brain cortex of APP/PS1 mice. ***p < 0.001
