Human and mouse mobilized CD34+ bone marrow stem cells grow exponentially in vitro. Mobilized human CD34+ peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) grew exponentially in vitro at the same rate as human CD34+ cells in bone marrow (BMSC). Similarly, mouse CD34+ cells from peripheral blood (PBSC) grew exponentially in vitro at the same rate as human CD34+ cells in bone marrow (BMSC). The results are shown for human and mouse cells from one of three experiments, each of which gave similar results
