Composition preservation of the liver extracellular matrix. Alcian blue, Aldehyde-fuchsin, Masson Trichrome, and PAS for detection of the acidic glycosaminoglycans and elastic fibers, collagen fibers, and neutral carbohydrate content, respectively, revealed some extent of ECM preservation in the decellularized liver compared to the intact one. Immunohistochemistry for collagen I, IV, fibronectin, and laminin was detected to retain in the liver scaffolds with a similar distribution pattern in the intact tissue. The scale bar is 100 µm
