SNHG5 promotes osteogenic differentiation. SNHG5 is regulated by transcription factor YY1 which directly binds to its promoter region to regulate osteogenesis. SNHG5 acts as a miR-212-3p sponge, which further directly targets GDF5 to activate the phosphorylation of Smad1/5/8 to regulate osteogenesis.
