Development history of stem cells. The “stem cell theory” originated in the twentieth century and was gradually developed and then utilized in clinical treatments. The efficacy of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in the treatment of hematological diseases has now been widely recognized. In addition, the functions of mesenchymal stem cells, embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, and other stem cells with strong differentiation abilities are now also being studied and used in clinical treatments.
