Capacity to consent

Insufficient fitness to tolerate the surgical intervention

Age between 18 and 70 years old

Clinical or anaesthetic contraindication for surgery (American Society of Anaesthesiologist (ASA) score IV or V)

Patients planned to undergo anatomical lung resection (excluding pneumonectomy)

Presence of severe non-controlled systemic disease

PAL score grade C or D

Pregnancy

Positive serology for hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or syphilis

Absence or revocation of informed consent
